What we do
Clacton Animal Aid is a registered charity No: 1027106. We are a re-homing centre for cats and dogs looking for caring, loving homes in North East Essex and South East Suffolk. We usually have 50-60 cats and up to 12 dogs requiring homes. We have small dogs and large dogs looking for a caring home. The dogs are given to us by their owners so we should know something about them. All our cats and dogs are vaccinated and neutered before adoption. We will not place pets in homes that have children under 10 years old. We require a home check before adoption and therefore we have to restrict our rehoming area to 15 miles from our centre. Please phone for an appointment to view the pets. If you do not live in North East Essex and South East Suffolk please do not phone us. See the list of dog rescues in the UK here and list of cat rescues in the UK here.

Volunteers Needed: Volunteers to help mornings in the cattery are very welcome, please call 01255 860062 (Calls taken from 10am - 5pm daily). Read a day in the life of a volunteer at Clacton Animal Aid.

Want a Cat with Character?
We have a lot of adult cats desperate for a home of their own. Please visit us.

Donations required
The Charity has two support shops in Clacton, and donated items to sell there are much appreciated. The Cat Shop is in 141 Old Road, Clacton-on-Sea, CO15 3AU, next to the Conservative Club. The Dog Shop is at 39 Rosemary Road, Clacton-on-Sea, CO15 1PA, near the open air market. Please do pop along and buy something or donate something or both!

Any old dog items that you may no longer require such as beds, bowls, leads, toys, tennis balls etc are always welcome at the kennels in Little Clacton, since some of the dogs destroy these!

LOST AND FOUND DOGS

"People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right? Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."
A six year old boys explanation for why dogs do not live as long as people, prompted by the death of his dog.
